Through the rigorous study of the liberal arts and sciences, our students will be prepared to achieve success in college and subsequent careers in law, government, and community justice. Our mission is to develop ethical citizen-leaders with skilled and discerning minds who use their knowledge and talents to affect positive change within the community.

Program Offering/Key Fact: 

The Law & Government Academy is a theme-based academy focused on the liberal arts and sciences. Our rigorous curriculum challenges our students to think critically and ask insightful questions. The school’s foundation in the social sciences develops deep thought, clear and effective writing and speaking, and diligent scholarly habits of mind. The school climate encourages student leadership by providing opportunity and voice to the student body. Our curriculum is filled with college-level courses, and the remaining classes are designed to prepare our students for success in college and in life.

  • Long-standing year-round paid internship program (over 500 successful internships in government offices, law firms, the state legislature, judicial branch, Hartford City Hall, police and fire departments, and various community-based and nongovernmental organizations)
