Come to one of our open houses or our weekly community meeting on Fridays where you will have an opportunity to learn about the Breakthrough Magnet School culture, tour the school, and meet our faculty and students.
Breakthrough’s character education theme permeates all we do in our daily programming and raises student awareness in five major areas, teaching children to:

What Does Breakthrough Have to Offer?
- Interdisciplinary teaching
- Music and visual arts instruction
- All students are explicitly taught our character development curriculum
- After school enrichment programs are offered from 3–4 pm where students have an may be exposed to a variety of programs such as cooking, yoga, and sports
- Students in our middle school (6–8th grades) have in‐school laptops assigned to them as they become more technology literate and use programs such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Renzulli and research search engines to augment their projects and presentations
- Spanish instruction: Students from kindergarten through Grade 8 have a Spanish class
- High school planning and support is offered to parents to ensure that students move on to a place of higher learning that best suits their needs and interests and to capitalize on the unique talents that each student possesses
- Community meeting held every Friday. Each class hosts two meetings per year that showcase aspects of our character curriculum by way of music, visual arts, dancing, and acting
- Needs‐based instruction provided to students who may need further instruction in building skills necessary before moving into their next grade level
- Family Nights: Family night activities are planned each year to improve children’s academic and character development
- S.T.E.P.: Course offered to parents who wish to learn the discipline approach used at Breakthrough Magnet School so that they are modeling and reinforcing these strategies at home
