The Regional School Choice Office (RSCO) is funded by the State of Connecticut and serves to provide families in the Greater Hartford Region with expanded educational opportunities for their students. The RSCO handles the application process for any family interested in applying to Magnet Education of Greater Hartford Schools (MEGH). Admission into a MEGH school is granted upon selection in the RSCO lottery. To ensure fair opportunity and compliance in response to the Sheff vs. Oneill court case, each student who applies on time to any of our programs will be placed into a random lottery to potentially be selected for a seat at a school they’ve chosen. The selection is based on 50% Hartford enrollment and 50% Greater Hartford (suburban) enrollment. The RSCO handles this lottery and relays the results to parents upon conducting the lottery in January.
