Academic/School Programs

The magnet school on the University of Hartford campus is based on the theory of multiple intelligences, developed by Dr. Howard Gardner of Harvard University. This theory proposes that each person has the ability to develop a variety of different kinds of "intelligence." Dr. Gardner has identified eight distinct types of intelligence:

  • Linguistic
  • Bodily-kinesthetic
  • Logical-mathematical
  • Interpersonal
  • Spatial
  • Intrapersonal
  • Musical
  • Naturalistic
